A simple walk-through of Oslo's biggest peninsula, Bygdøy. Bygdøy is situated 5 km from the city center and is easy to access it. It has great nature, fireplaces, sea and heights, birds and small animals. Bygdøy is also the site of five museums.: Norwegian Museum of Cultural History (Norsk Folkemuseum) – an open-air museum with buildings, relocated from towns and rural districts Viking Ship Museum (Vikingskipshuset) – houses the Oseberg ship, Gokstad ship and Tune ship Norwegian Maritime Museum (Norsk Maritimt Museum) – exhibits on coast culture and maritime history Fram Museum (Frammuseet) – site of the ship Fram used by Roald Amundsen Kon-Tiki Museum – houses exhibits from the expeditions of Thor Heyerdahl Bygdøy or Bygdø is a peninsula situated on the western side of Oslo, Norway. Administratively, Bygdøy belongs to the borough of Frogner; historically Bygdøy was part of Aker Municipality and became part of Oslo in 1948. I walked through the west side of Bygdøy, close to the sea, and then went to the east side, straight through the forest in the middle of the peninsula. Together, we're going to see the forest, hear chirping birds, the North Sea, and the clean and well-maintained nature close to the Oslo's city center.
