Tropical Weather Impact: Erin moves away from US East Coast; new storm could form

Erin continues to move away from the US on Friday but rip currents and rough seas will continue across the US Eastern Coastline Friday. Erin will keep moving farther away into the Atlantic Ocean and beach conditions will improve this weekend. Located northeast of the Caribbean's Leeward Islands is a tropical wave we've been following for days. It is now designated Invest 90 with a future path similar to Erin with a high chance for development in the Atlantic Ocean. Only land area threatened as of now is possibly Bermuda. Moving into the central tropical Atlantic Ocean is Invest 99. It is holding only a medium chance for development in the next few days. Conditions are expected to become unfavorable for development as it moves generally west toward the Caribbean. A little more rain may move into the Islands this week. Elsewhere, one little area in the central Atlantic has a low chance for formation, but no development is expected through the next several days and long-range models keep the Gulf quiet through the end of August.
