Leoni, a mother of three from Northamptonshire, took the leap last year to change her career and signed up to train as a plant operator on HS2. After only two weeks of free training, she gained an industry-recognised license to drive articulated dumper trucks and later became the first woman in the UK to be qualified to drive a 'grader' - a 25-tonne machine with a long blade underneath used to create a level surface.
