About Aaron Green and The Spanish Guitar Workshop-https://www.thespanishguitarworkshop.com If you ever wanted to encounter the legitimacy behind the Hauser myth and for me, exceeds it....this is the guitar. In addition to the points I made in my opener, when I had the guitar originally it was in the most fortuitous pairing I have ever had. The other being a 1949 Hauser Segovia model that was equally impressive as it relates to Hauser's body of work. Simply put that was my ultimate Segovia model Hauser. To have both guitars at the same time was among other things quite an education as to what this builder was capable of. I mention all that to mention this, the difference in sound between the two was hardly clear as to which model was which. Far from it, they both were just beauties beyond compare and certainly on equal footing in the performance department. In short both world class concert guitars by one of the greatest ever to pick up a chisel. A little clarification though in my points about my early experience with the Hausers in NYC. The 1947 ex Dr Cecil was not located in New York for long prior to my meeting it in 2001. So if Mr Guisti ever saw it, it was not in NYC nor am I referring to that guitar when I say he got the best of the bunch. I have only heard the 1940 Augustine Hauser in concert ("only" being somewhat facetious as it was in Julian Bream's hands at the time in a most excellent hall) so not the same as me playing it but this one definitely does what that guitar does in terms of projection and dynamic presence. So no intended shade cast in the direction of that guitar. But I can bet Mr. Guisti felt great pride and satisfaction with his guitar. So much so that he wrote his social security number in the guitar right below the label. In dark blue in and executed by someone rather good with a brush. The numbers are tiny, maybe 2 mm tall and you can only see it when you are looking for it. Which is super cool in my opinion. It is a pleasure beyond words to commune with this great instrument. As a luthier it has taught and continues to teach me things that make me a better builder.
