Walkthrough by Bermy Beastiary: Cawer (Boss - 200 HP) Claw (Boss - 220 HP) Dodai (Boss - 2,000 HP) Emitai (Boss - 600 HP) Garr (Boss - 65,535 HP) Golem (Boss - 750 HP) Patrio (Boss - 350 HP) Enemy Skills: 22:16 - Frost Strike (Patrio) 31:16 - Spirit Blast (Golem) 00:00 - World Map Return to the Coffee Shop to have D'Lonzo teach you Steal (00:30), then exit the Coffee Shop and go to your Camp to put Peco in your party and swap Abilities around to make sure that Ryu has Steal. Now return to the "?" above the Plant and head to the right and have Peco kick the second rock. Search the hole to receive a Hawk's Ring (04:17), then leave the area. Now head to the "?" near the large tree to the right of the Plant. Head inside and speak with the tree at the back of the area with Peco as your leader to discover this is Master Yggdrasil (04:48). Give it a Wisdom Fruit and it will offer to become a Master for you. I choose to make Momo it's student since she has learned everything from D'Lonzo, but Nina is really a better option. With that done, return to the Plant. 05:43 - Plant Your party automatically changes to Ryu, Momo and Nina, and then there is a scene involving Palet. Rest up at the Inn for another scene, and you will end up back in a familiar location. 09:04 - Genmel (Arena) After the scene, choose to leave Peco behind as a hostage. Once you regain control, exit this room, go down the nearby stairs and go through the large door at the back of the area. Climb the stairs then enter the leftmost door on that level, then go to the right to find stairs leading down. There is a weapon and armor shop. You should already have the best weapons, so purchase any new armor that you may need then return back upstairs. Go left then go to the very back room and search the rightmost drawer for a Healing Herb (13:34). Exit the room then go back down the hall. Enter the room that you previously passed and search the rightmost drawer for a Coin (13:45). Equip Ryu with the Claymore and Ring of Ice before speaking with the nearby lady to begin the first series of fights. 15:00 - Claw (Boss - 220 HP) Claw always uses Blind on her first turn, so use a normal attack on the Dodai to make her waste this on your Dodai. After that, use Ascension and use the Flame and Reverse genes to transform into a frost whelp. Now use Frost Claw on the Dodai underneath Claw until the Dodai drops down a little bit. After that, use Frost Claw one more time, then return back to normal. Use Snooze until you have around 15 AP, then use normal attacks to finish off Claw. If you are lucky, you will get Speed Boots to drop. 19:42 - Cawer (Boss - 200 HP) Steal the Dream Ring then simply use normal attacks to defeat Cawer (his frost attack will heal you) 22:16 - Patrio (Boss - 350 HP) & Dodai (Boss - 2,000 HP) Patrio hits hard with his Lucky Strikes. In general, use auto attacks until you take out around 180 HP, and use only items such as Bass to keep yourself healed. Once you have taken out over half of Patrio's HP, he will begin to use Frost Strike, which you should try to learn with Ryu. Note, this is difficult to learn here, but well worth it as you don't have another chance to learn it until much later in the game. Once you learn Frost Strike, you can either defeat Patrio or use the Frost Whelp again and defeat the Dodai for 3,000 exp. I choose the latter. After the fight, exit the Arena to return to Genmel and heal to full at the Inn. Return to the Arena and go back to the same area with the dressing rooms and follow the path the to the right to go back to the dressing rooms. Ignore the first room for now and follow the path left and up to get to the next room. Search the rightmost drawer to find 40 zenny (28:00), then go to the dressing room that you previously passed. Speak with the lady by the door for a scene, then the next boss fight. 31:16 - Emitai (Boss - 600 HP) & Golem x2 (Boss - 750 HP) Steal Life Shards from the Golem while you have Nina and Momo Examine the Golems to learn Spirit Blast. Once you have stolen the Life Shards, use the Flame and Defender genes then use Flame Claw on Emitai or Flame Breath to attack everything. Once Emitai is defeated, the Golems will attack themselves, making the fight easier. After the fight, exit the changing room and go down the stairs in the bottom left, then up through the nearby door. Go to the room in the back and search the rightmost drawer for a Bandana (39:56), then go to the room you skipped. Speak with the lady to trigger the next fight. 43:20 - Garr (Boss - 65,535 HP) Simply keep yourself alive until Garr says "Let's Finish This" after which he will defeat you in 1 attack. You cannot win this fight. There will then be a series of scenes. Back in control of Ryu, head back to Balio and Sunder's room for another scene, then exit Genma to continue.
