Recently, there has been a proliferation of sham constructs in psychology: constructs and concepts that cannot be validated or are superfluous. My candidates for the Ig Noble Prize: “Dark empath”, “maladaptive daydreaming”, “neglectful narcissist”, “shy or quiet borderline”, “emotional flashbacks”, and “recovered narcissist”. As opposed to the exact sciences, in the social “sciences” and in the humanities, 90% of all “innovations” are recycled, renamed, and rebranded old ideas and 80% of the “experiments” cannot be repeated with the same outcomes (replication crisis). These “disciplines” are scams, or to be more charitable, observational literature cloaked in self-aggrandizing “mathematics”. Fearful-avoidant (disorganized) “attachment style” is a latecomer to attachment theory: Ainsworth's colleague Mary Main (disoriented attachment). Its authors merely copy-pasted verbatim the DSM 4 diagnostic criteria for Borderline Personality Disorder. So, this is not an attachment style at all!
