Birdwatching Pond Census on the Pinetree Wood Trailcam - April 2025

Pinetree Wood is my own mini nature reserve at the bottom of my garden. There are a variety of trees, shrubs and ground cover, with a micro pond as an animal water source, a bird table, a hanging feeder and a nesting box, which is usually occupied by Bluetits. Since January 2025, when I first installed a trailcam, I've seen foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits, mice, pheasants, cats and a large variety of garden birds. Since I made the mini pond in the wood, it has become quite popular with the birds, both for bathing and drinking. I'd seen various birds in the garden before making the pond, but didn't realise how many different types were visiting. I decided for the first week of April, to set a camera up beside the pond, to monitor what birds were using it.
