Mike Mckean gives an interesting talk on using the Internet of Things (IOT) for healthcare. This presentation suggests some non-intrusive technologies that could be used to help in tracking of medical devices. Integrating the medical authority deployment records of machines, with real-time deployment data. Use Case example, if the medical authority system shows that a medical device is in use in ward 7, but the medical device is tracked as being in ward 10, this will help make sure that deployment and usage are kept in synch. Out of synch data will highlight where medical devices might no longer be in use, and therefore can be re-deployed.
