Mid-Winter: Bob Chilcott, Maria Welna (soprano and concert pianist)

The beautiful carol Mid-Winter performed this Christmas in Sydney as part of my 'Concerts with an Audience' residency. Chilcott's version is my favourite arrangement of Christina Rossetti's text, and I've performed it in quite a few choral concerts (since childhood). Here is my Southern Hemisphere performance, although Northern Hemisphere winters do resonate with me due to years of carol singing (and experiencing some harsh European winters). In our tradition we sing carols and keep Christmas decorations up from Christmas Eve to February 2nd. We hope you will join with us to enjoy the longer carolling period.
