Kalasa is a taluk located in Chikkamagaluru district in Karnataka. Kalasa is home to the Kalaseshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kalasa lies 92 Kilometres South-west of Chickmagalur and is located on the banks of the Bhadra River. Amba Theertha, named after Goddess Parvathi, is one of Kalasa’s five major water spots or Panchatheerthas or Five Sacred Waters, within about 8 km from the town. Each of these spots is linked with a myth from Hindu mythology. The Vasishta Theertha has been dedicated to sage Vasistha and is a part of the Pancha Teerthas. There’s even a strong hanging bridge along with a small temple nearby. The best time to visit Vasishta Theertha would perhaps be during the evening when you would be able to admire the fantastic views of the sunset. The five Theerthas are: 1.
