A snow day in Philly sounds peaceful — the city covered in white, everything quiet and still. But for me, life didn’t slow down. As a mom of two and an essential worker, snow days don’t mean staying home. They mean waking up a little earlier, moving with intention, and showing up anyway. That morning, I made breakfast for my girls while they sat at the table creating Valentine’s Day dinosaurs. Glitter and paper hearts were everywhere. Their laughter filled the kitchen, and for a moment, winter didn’t feel so cold. Even in busy seasons, there are small pockets of joy. Then it was time for me to head to work. When I arrived, I found myself sharing pieces of my life — what’s been on my heart, what this season has been teaching me. Sometimes we don’t realize that our honesty might be the very thing someone else needs to hear. If my story can encourage even one person, it’s worth sharing. After work, I made an emergency grocery run to make sure dinner would be smooth and my home would feel prepared. I did a small grocery haul, showing what I picked up — not anything extravagant, just real life. Responsibility. Love. Provision. On the drive home, watching the snow fall, I thought about how winter makes us appreciate summer so much more. Just like hard times in life make us appreciate the good days. The truth is, difficult seasons don’t last forever. They may feel heavy. They may feel confusing. But they are only that — a season. And seasons always change. When we come out on the other side, we’re not the same. We’re stronger. Wiser. More grateful. We understand things we didn’t before. So wherever you are on your journey, take it all in — even the hard parts. Learn from every experience. Grow through it. Trust that even when you don’t understand why you had to go through something, it’s shaping you into a better version of yourself. Hard times don’t last. But the strength you gain from them does. ❄️🌤️
