After 5 years of running the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, our original engine had a bearing failure. In the process of putting a new engine in the car to make the race this year, we took a look at some of the options to improve the stock pan with a baffle plate, as well as some of the aftermarket or modified pans out there. As we were looking at the different options for aftermarket or modified pans, we also started to get a picture of where those pans were helpful, and the point at which it might actually be best to look at going with a full dry-sump oiling system. Fortunately, the guys at Roger Clark Motorsport were a huge help, and even shared some data with us to show the differences between the two. It turns out that they ran into the same sort of issues when they were developing their Gobstopper 1 race car. After thinking about it, we had a lot of helpful information, and we wanted to put it together so that we could hopefully help someone else out that had the same questions. We have all of the parts that we talk about in this video on our web-site, and here are links to them: https://www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-o... https://www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-g... https://www.flatironstuning.com/kille... https://www.flatironstuning.com/kille... https://www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-d... https://www.flatironstuning.com/rcm-5...
