Edit: I got Q(c) completely wrong, the answer scheme is wrong as well. Both discs will rotate in the same direction, this is due to the conservation of angular momentum of the entire system before the collision (kinda confusing I know but if you do this with two discs in real life thats what happens). A similar analogy would be the earth rotating around the sun, this system has angular momentum about any chosen origin, if the earth collided with a moon both would spin in the same direction and would gain angular momentum from the earth-sun system.
