Day 8 – Wednesday – February 25 Readings: Jeremiah 18:18–20 | Psalm 31 | Matthew 20:17–28 Theme: Jeremiah – Loneliness, Ministry Rejection & Endurance Today’s reflection draws from the Book of Jeremiah, Psalm 31, and the Gospel of Matthew. Jeremiah speaks of rejection and plots against him — the painful reality of ministry loneliness and misunderstanding. Despite opposition, he remains faithful. Psalm 31 echoes the cry of trust: “In You, O Lord, I take refuge.” In the Gospel, Jesus foretells His suffering and teaches that true greatness comes through humble service and self-giving. This reflection invites us to examine our own lives: • How do we respond when we feel rejected or unappreciated? • Can we remain faithful when obedience is costly? • Are we willing to serve without recognition? Jeremiah’s endurance reminds us that faithfulness is not measured by applause but by perseverance. Like Christ, we are called to trust God even when the path includes sacrifice.
