Hebrews 11 begins by defining faith as “the evidence of things not seen,” reminding us that biblical faith is not a blind leap into the dark but a confident response to what God has already revealed. In this message, Pastor JD Howell shows that God has given us real evidence that He is trustworthy, calling us to walk by faith and not by sight. Hebrews 11 points us to several powerful evidences. First, creation itself declares the power and wisdom of God. The Bible says, “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). Every detail of the world around us testifies that there is a Creator who is worthy of our trust. The passage also reminds us through the examples of Abel and Enoch that God sees faithful obedience and is pleased with those who trust Him. “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6). This message challenges us to examine our own lives. Faith is not just something we claim but something we live. Do our decisions, our prayers, and our responses to trials show that we truly trust God?
