Decided to get out and enjoy the nice Weather today. After me and my wife (Diana) got our running around with some errands, wanted to catch a few trains today, went over the Theresa South Marsh Siding, just south of Theresa, WI. Had the scanner on and heard some chatter about a Southbound freight. Maybe about 5-10 minutes after I got to the location, I was checking the CTC signal and it was “Yellow” over Red for Northbound. As I was walking back to the truck, I heard a train horns blast to my north, and sounded like rushing water, just a few minutes I saw the headlight of the Southbound Freight Train, pulling in to the siding. It was Train M340 Mixed Manifest where they would water for 2 Northbound Trains. 1st Northbound was a Intermodal Freight Train, and the 2nd Northbound Freight was a Mixed Manifest, both of these train moving a good clip, in fact the 2nd one had empty lumber cars, that it created a wind storm it, knock down my tripod over and you see blue sky, until I got over there to set and hold the tripod. Once the 2nd Northbound went by, M340 got the “Green” light to proceed South. Both Northbound Trains had DPU locomotives on them, both working hard, as they were in notch 8 (full throttle)!!
