WATCH TO THE END FOR BEST BIT. The weather forecast was for a manageable 30knots wind behind us. But we got more than that. On occasions it exceeded 40knots Join us for an early morning departure from Poole Harbour, as we face the forecasted strong weather conditions for our sailing trip back to the Solent. This boating adventure takes us past Hengistbury Head, Hurst Castle and along a windy Solent back to Gosport in Portsmouth Harbour. The race at Hurst narrows was very exciting with wind against tide kicking up a steeply confused sea. But Zephyr IV carried us through as always. Maybe not your usual sailboat cruising but exhilarating and memorable. It was a true test of our skills and a reminder of the excitement that comes from sailing a downwind dash in stronger wind than normal. You need to watch to the end to get the full effect of this strong wind against tide day. Strong Wind Sailing in the Solent and along the South Coast on Zephyr IV a 35 foot Westerly Ocean Quest sailing boat.
