PS5 MFS24 - Tips n Tricks - G1000 RNAV Approaches

Second in my G1000 Autopilot Series!!! Let's look at programming the autopilot to (almost) land your plane via an RNAV approach for missions. Part One is here:    • PS5 MFS24 - Tips n Tricks - G1000 Autopilot   Generally speaking, programming wise: Step 1 - Check at mission start that the arrival airport supports RNAV landings. and choose the correct runway if its limited to only one approach. Step 2 - Program your EFB and get en route per my Part One video. Step 3 - Before arriving at the last en route waypoint, program your approach but only LOAD, do not Activate. Step 4 - Once you are tranistioning into the approach vectors, ACTIVATE approach scenario (Not APR mode!) Step 5 - Follow vectors to approach pattern. If you get into HOLD use the Direct-to function to go to the FINAL APPROACH FIX (faf) on your approach pattern. Step 6 - ACTIVATE APR mode - check you are beneath the Glidepath (GP), or descend until you are below it, or it automatically activates. Step 7 - Ensure GP is active - maintain throttle on approach to approach speed, engage flaps, landing gear if you need to, and prepare to land. Step 8 - When you are close enough to runway, within a few 100m of the touchdown area, disengage AP and fly it in for a sterling finish!!! Or stall it out on landing like me!!! Your choice!!! Step 9 - Pub for a beer and gravy chips.
