In this tutorial, I walk you through essential techniques for working clean, professional stranded colourwork — including how to manage tension and maintain consistent stitch gauge for a smooth, balanced fabric. Using the Fram Cowl as a demonstration project, you’ll also learn how to create a twisted infinity (Möbius-style) cowl with a seamless finish: • controlling floats for even colourwork • unzipping a provisional cast-on to release live stitches • inserting a single twist for natural drape • aligning needles correctly for grafting • joining the two ends seamlessly using the Kitchener stitch These techniques can be applied to any stranded colourwork and/or continuous loop design projects worked in the round — particularly cowls and collars. The Fram Cowl pattern (featured in this video) is available from Girl from the Coast Designs.
