1993 Peugeot 405 Mi16 SuperTourisme at Nürburgring - Martin Niedertscheider OnBoard + Track Actions

We were delighted to film the Peugeot 405 Mi16 Supertourisme (STW) with which Daniel & Michel Bandura competed in the Championnat de France Supertourisme from 1993 to 1998. After 31 years of ownership, the car was sold to its current Austrian owner and driver, Martin Niedertscheider, who drove it on the Nürburgring track during the Touring Car race at the 52nd edition of the Belmot Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Martin and his brother Peter for their kindness and for allowing us to film the Peugeot with the in-cabin camera. I want to point out that this was Martin Niedertscheider's first race weekend with the 405 SuperTourisme. The car itself was built independently by the Bondura brothers, who turned to the Italian company Italtechnica. As Daniel explains, for the new Championnat de France Supertourisme, PTS France (Peugeot Talbot Sport) was too busy preparing their official cars and recommended the Bandura brothers turn to the Italian company to prepare their racing car. Italtechnica warmly welcomed the project, and the 405 Mi16 SuperTourisme you see here was partially assembled in Italy. The Bandura brothers competed independently in the Championnat de France Supertourism for six seasons. Their best season was 1996, when they also achieved third place in the Charade race. Under the hood, the technical specifications include a 2.0-litre 16V four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine capable of developing 280 hp at 8,500 rpm, mated to a six-speed Hewland sequential gearbox. The car is front-wheel driven and weighs just 950 kg. In the video, we witness a thrilling battle with Nico Ulmer, the driver of the 1993 VW Vento, with which Dindo Capello competed in the Italian championship. On the very last lap, in the final corners, Martin Niedertscheider managed to overtake the German driver. Dopo 31 anni di possesso la vettura è stata venduta all'attuale proprietario e pilota Austriaco Martin Niedertscheider che l'ha guidata in pista al Nürburgring durante la gara dedicata alle Touren Wagen all'edizione numero 52 del Belmot Oldtimer Grand Prix 2025. Ringraziamo enormemente Martin e suo fratello Peter per essere stati molto gentili nei nostri confronti ed averci permesso di filmare la Peugeot con la telecamera all'interno dell'abitacolo. Voglio segnalarvi che questo è stato il primo weekend di gara per Martin Niedertscheider con la 405 SuperTourisme. Per quanto riguarda la vettura, si tratta di un modello costruito in modo indipendente dai fratelli Bandura che si sono rivolti all'azienda Italiana Italtechnica. Come racconta Daniel, per il nuovo nuovo Championnat de France Supertourisme, PTS France (Peugeot Talbot Sport) era troppo impegnata per la preparazione delle loro auto auto ufficiali ed ha consigliato ai fretelli Bandura di rivolgersi all'azienda italiana per la preparazione della loro auto da corsa. Italtechnica ha accolto calorosamente questo progetto e la 405 Mi16 SuperTourisme che vedete è stata parzialmente montata in Italia. I frateli Bandura hanno partecipato da indipendenti per sei stagioni nel Supertourism Championnat de France. La stagione migliore fu il 1996 dove ottennero anche un terzo posto alla gara di Charade. Le caratteristiche tecniche vedono sotto il cofano anteriore il motore 4 cilindri da 2.0-Litri 16V aspirato capace di sviluppare 280 Hp a 8.500 giri/min mosso dal cambio sequenziale Hewland a sei rapporti. La trazione è alle ruote anteriori ed il peso è di soli 950 Kg. Nel filmato possiamo assistere alla bella battaglia con Nico Ulmer, il pilota della VW Vento, vettura del 1993 con cui Dindo Capello corse il campionato Italiano. Proprio all'ultimo giro, nelle curve finali, Martin Niedertscheider è riuscito a sorpassare il pilota tedesco.
