We visit this absolutely beautiful place called the Nonke Buusjke that is located on the edge of the Schinveldse Bossen, half hidden under the foliage. A historical gem that is unique to the Netherlands. It cherishes a collection of South Limburg half-timbered houses and workshops from the beginning of the last century. The centerpiece is the completely restored half-timbered farmhouse. Surrounding it are the outbuildings such as a bakehouse, syrup distillery, carpentry workshop, weaving house, clog maker and shoe maker. All buildings are fully furnished with authentic furniture and utensils that were used in the Limburg countryside around 1900. A collection of agricultural implements from the time before mechanization completes the memory of a past society. Yet the Nonke Buusjke is not just any open-air museum...
