Kinchley’s Tavern may not be the biggest name in NJ Pizza, but it’s one of our absolute favorites. 🌭Interested in famous NJ restaurants? Like many classic NJ cheap eats spots, they only accept cash—which you may need to plan for because we dare you to buy just one pie! Although some people favor nearby Nellie’s Place or Star Tavern (among a number of great NJ spots,) Kinchley’s will always have our vote as the bar pie in NJ. With a perfectly cooked thin crust that has just the right amount of char and is strong enough to hold a number of toppings yet flexible enough to offer the perfect flop, Kinchley’s pizza is undeniably delicious. In addition to pizza, Kinchley’s offers a full tavern-style menu, but we rarely bother ordering anything else except dessert and drinks. For dessert, our favorite is the birch beer float, which offers the contrast of creamy vanilla ice cream and refreshing birch beer in a huge mug. You have to try it! Surrounded by homey light fixtures, model trains, and classic bar decor, Kinchley’s transports you to a different, slower time.
