And they thought being a zombie is bad. Try using your curse to get back all the things you've lost in this puzzle and physics game called Headless Zombie. What you must do is to control your character named Carl. He has become a zombie with the ability of removing his head. You must get to the door in each level in order to win. You will face traps and challenging puzzles but you can solve them by using Carl's ability. There are also golden coins scattered on the platforms. Collect them all so you can access the castle level. Overview: There was once an aristocrat named Carl and yes Carl was a pretty much a common name back in the medieval days. Carl was a rich person that really didn’t have a bad attitude to him. He even shared some of his riches to the people. Apparently a dark wizard is envious of his riches and casts a spell on Carl decapitating his head and killing him in the process. The dark wizard takes Carl’s castle and his riches but Carl has risen from the dead becoming a zombie with his head being loose enough. Carl now seeks vengeance and tries to take his life back. Aesthetics: The game’s visuals are that of hand drawn imagery with cartoonish displays. The animations are smooth and despite being a zombie game and set in the night, the game looks bright and vibrant though it does have a monotonic color tone to it. The game’s audio is also good, as it has a Halloween vibe to it but in a nice and friendly way. In a sense it’s not scary and it’s a fun tune to play whenever you’re playing the game. Speaking of the game’s aesthetics you are even treated to a nice little opening cinematic complete with voice overs and it looks and sounds good. Then of course there is also the ending that uss the same mechanics. Gameplay: The gameplay for Headless Zombie is a 2D side scroller with puzzle elements. It doesn’t emphasize on action but it does the part. The goal is simply to control Carl by making him go to the exit of each level. It sounds easy but of course there are elements to it. One thing is that Carl’s head can be removed and it is needed to solve some of the puzzle elements of the game. There are obstacles like pressing levers and buttons. In some cases you have to leave your head on a button to solve the puzzle. You also need to have your head attached otherwise you could not exit the level. You can also throw your head over an obstacle to solve the puzzle. There are other things you can use like a box or a pumpkin. You just pick them up ad place them on your head. The purpose for these other things is that they can be used to be the weight over those buttons so that you can pick up your head as you can’t end the level without your head. There are also other obstacles like spikes and pitfalls that can kill you. If you also throw your head to these obstacles, then its dead. Then there are the people in some levels that will kill you or the head and that also merits a game over. There are also 3 coins that you can pick up per level although they aren’t required to finish the level.
