The curse is still there and you can't go back as a human. Help Carl once more return to his human state in this fun and challenging puzzle game with a tinge of physics; Headless Zombie 2! Your new quest this time is to collect the cogs in each level. There are 3 cogs in each level and you must find all of them to build the machine. Drop your zombie head in order to open and unlock new areas. There's also a robot head that you can use to solve the puzzles. And be sure to avoid the electric spheres or else you will fail! Overview: The end of Headless Zombie 1 had Carl contemplating as to how he never got his human body back. He thought that since magic could no longer help him, he turned his attention to science. Carl meets a man named Tesla where the latter thinks that his invention could probably turn back Carl to normal. However in order for this to happen, Carl has to gather the Golden Cogs which he does in the events of the game. Aesthetics: The visuals and graphics of Headless Zombie 2 is pretty much the same as the first game. They use hand drawn cartoon imagery mixed with some colorful animation. The animation itself is smooth and fluent for the character movements and the things on the level. The audio for the game is different from the first game but it has that spooky yet fun tune to it. It’s a bit whimsical and doesn’t take things too seriously for a zombie game of course. You also get treated to the same kind of opening and ending from the first game. It’s a small video presentation with picture slide shows that have voice overs and they really do look good. Gameplay: Headless Zombie 2 is the same as the first game where it is a 2D puzzle game mixed with elements of side scrolling and some mild platforming. You control Carl over each level and the main objective is to reach the exit of each level. In each level there are also Golden Cogs that the players must get. We say must since there is a secret level at the end that can only be accessed when one gets all 60 Golden Cogs in the game. Going back to the level, there are obstacles and puzzles that you have to solve to proceed with the game. There are also times just like the first game where you have to remove your head so that you can proceed with it. You can also use your head as a platform to gain extra leverage for jumping as well as throw your head to activate buttons and levers. There are new elements to the game that involve the aspect of science. There are the robotic heads, robotic bodies, magnets and anvils. Just like the first game, there are hazards in the levels like fire pits, people, pit falls and the newly added electric balls. These things can kill you in one hit but using the robotic bodies and heads will nullify the electric balls and absorb them. Then again the people can still kill you regardless if you’re using the robotic body or head. You would simply need to solve the puzzle in the level to progress. There are times when you have to move fast and react to the surroundings.
