Teach To Learn By Conductive Education (TLCE) is a non-profit organization to support children with neurological disorders to take part in Conductive Education. (CE) Our mission is to be able to make Conductive Education accessible to all children across Canada and to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy. Unfortunately, the Canadian government or insurance companies do not support Conductive Education, so families are left to fund this alternative therapy for their children. TLCE would like to help families to be able to afford Conductive Education for their children or loved ones at an affordable rate or if possible for free. The funds will be used to lower tuition fees so CE becomes accessible for anyone interested in it, and families don't have to give up on this beneficial alternative therapy due to costs. CE was founded in the 1940s by Hungarian physician Professor Andras Peto, CE focuses on individuals living with neurological motor disorders. CE programs are not medically-based, it is a holistic approach, and is task oriented. It is neither therapy nor a treatment, it is a comprehensive method of learning. CE involves all aspects of functionality – from physical functioning to communication to cognitive development to social interaction, psychological acceptance. CE perceives people with neurological conditions as facing a challenge of learning rather than needing treatment for a medical condition. Through a structured teaching environment, the brain can access residual capacity (neuroplasticity) and learning can be promoted. The idea is that the brain has the potential to learn to overcome the deficits of damaged areas. Children are taught to see themselves as active and self-reliant participants in the world. The goal of CE is the socio-cultural integration of children with neuro - motor disorders by assisting the child to develop an ortho-functioning personality. CE allows and teaches to solve the problems of daily living, such as dressing, eating, practicing personal hygiene, and other activities that are part of daily life and routine and will allow the child to ultimately live as independently as possible. Please DONATE TODAY to help children take part in Conductive Education and to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy and other neurological conditions. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. http://www.gofundme.com/cspces www.conductiveeducation4u.com
