People fleeing high levels of violence in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador—the countries that form the Northern Triangle of Central America (NTCA)—suffer further from limited access to medical care and are forced to contend with aggressive deportation policies that disregard their need for protection. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is treating people who've fled to Mexico from these areas, and is advocating for more humane reception policies so people running for their lives won't be treated as criminals.
