This video was recorded over several trips to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland. Filmed along the former Western Maryland route between Cumberland and Frostburg, Maryland. The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad operates a monster of a steam locomotive, Ex-Chesapeake and Ohio H6 class 2-6-6-2 mallet, 1309. In this video, seen from trackside, inside the cab, and from hanging outside of the cab, as we follow 1309 from the historic Western Maryland station in downtown Cumberland up the rugged Western Maryland route to the quiet town of Frostburg, Maryland. A unique aspect of this video was that I decided to edit it in black and white, or also known as monochrome, grayscale and monotone. This was done for two reasons, one was because I was inspired by John Frankenheimer's 1964 film, "The Train," and the second reason was because I was lazy to color grade all these clips. Please note, the in-cab footage featured in this video was recorded with permission along with purchasing of a cab ride ticket.
