Increasing number of people wanting to use communication devices - eg apps which enable typed words to be read out. What about verbal students - would a voice output device be helpful for them ? Depends on the student and the goals/purpose. For some it could trigger echolalia. If a student has speech , the teachers aim would be to build the skill by getting the student to read out what they have typed. (see Soma's book - developing expressive language). If student has verbal ability lets help them use it purposefully.
