Dear Brothers, This week we continue in The 21 Irrefutable Laws with Chapter 17 The Law Of Priorities From Luke 10:38-42 38 Jesus…came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[f] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Here we see an action person being reminded of the priority of being with Jesus. This is a struggle for many of us in the marketplace, who are “action” people. So Maxwell says in THE LAW OF PRIORITIES that Activity Is Not Necessarily Accomplishment. In today’s fast-paced world, everyone seems to celebrate busyness. And the busier you are, the more you must be accomplishing, right? Wrong. Busyness does not equal productivity. The key is filling your time with the right activity. That’s the Law of Priorities. If you don’t give time to the process of prioritizing, your task list will master you instead of the other way around. Maxwell suggests praying and asking God to help you make a list of your values and key commitments. Determine what really matters to you and to God. Then evaluate how these line up with how you’re currently spending your time. By planning based on your actual priorities, your daily activities will result in accomplishment, not just busyness. Maxwell prioritizes his calendar and to-do list with the three Rs. Requirement, Return, and Reward. 1. First, what is required? Whether to meet God’s call or to fulfill your role as a parent, friend, or spouse, you know that some tasks are nonnegotiable and must be high on your priority list. 2. Second, what gives the greatest return? Where can your efforts make the most impact? Most likely in your areas of greatest strength. 3. Third, what brings the greatest reward? List the things you do that bring personal satisfaction. Things you love keep you passionate. Maxwell reminds us that with the Lord’s help we can live by His priorities and ours and be more like a Mary and less like a Martha. 2026 Global Exchange - Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo, Mexico April 11-18, 2026.
