Dear Brothers, The funeral for Gerry Visser is this week. Visitation will be held at Grace Community CRC on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A celebration of his life will be held in the same location on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11am. This week we continue in The 21 Irrefutable Laws with Chapter 16 The Law Of The Big Mo From Acts 2:36-38, 41 36 “… be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said…, “… what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. The Holy Spirit provided the initial momentum and enabled the great movement to proceed. Yet it took Peter to boldly state the truth and invite people to respond. Maxwell says momentum is a Leader’s Best Friend. If you’ve got all the passion, tools, and people you need to fulfill a great vision, yet you can’t seem to get your organization moving and going in the right direction, you’re dead in the water as a leader. What do you need in such circumstances? You need to harness the power of the Holy Spirit to empower and guide you. Momentum is the great exaggerator. It’s like a magnifying glass; it makes every situation look better than it really is. Momentum also exaggerates the leader’s contribution to team success. The more you win, the more people expect you to keep winning. But momentum also improves performance. As the team maintains momentum, its members keep performing better than they ever thought possible. They break records and exceed expectations. How is momentum created? Often it starts with some initial small wins. Like Jesus who sent out the disciples 2 by 2 before Pentecost to prepare them with early successes. If you as the leader are waiting for someone else to motivate you or to develop small wins, then everyone is in trouble. It starts inside of you. If God has provided the vision and opportunity, you must trust Him for the fulfillment of it. To build momentum, you need to enthusiastically pursue that vision, doing all that you can to achieve small wins. Those successes will get the ball rolling, and momentum will begin to build. And if you’re wise, you’ll always value the Spirit’s empowering: the leader’s best friend. Once you have it, you can do almost anything. Like Peter leading 3,000 to Christ in one day. 2026 Global Exchange - Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo, Mexico April 11-18, 2026. Marquita are going with 3 others from Ottawa.
