After spending a morning at Hammond/Whiting Amtrak station we moved on to Portage/Ogden South Shore Line Station, located just to the east of Gary and before the Cleveland Cliffs Burns Harbor steel works. I was hoping to see some freight on the south shore lines or an Indiana Harbor Board train, the latter appeared but nothing on the south shore. The first train to arrive was an NS coil train heading to the steel works just along the line, Burns Harbor yard. As the coil train was heading into the distance a manifest came round the corner heading to Chicago. Next we have an NS stack train heading east at speed, followed by a South Shore service arriving at the station. Then we have an eastbound Amtrak train flying through at full line speed. Then we have another east bound stack train this time with BNSF power moving quickly by. Next we have a manifest, it stopped just short of the crossing for about 15 minutes before moving off. It has a UP SD70M running behind the lead loco. Then the Indiana Harbor Belt arrives with 2 GP38-2 working flat out to get their train moving. Finally CP arrives with a manifest with a CP AC4400CW on the point and a KCS AC4400CW behind it. If you enjoyed the video please subscribe, it's free.
