There's a woman in Brooklyn who knows every child's name, sends birthday cards with cash inside, and throws twice-yearly epic dinner parties for the neighborhood families she's adopted as her own. Her name is Miss T. She's a crossing guard. And she might be the most inspiring person we've ever had on this show. In this episode, I sit down with Dutch documentary filmmaker Corinne van der Borch (Sisters on Track, Netflix) and Australian artist-animator Edwina White — two women in the second half of life who turned a dog park friendship into a creative partnership, and a single corner in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn into the subject of their upcoming documentary I Got You. This conversation is about so much more than one documentary. It's about what happens when we pay attention to the people right in front of us. When we let the "loose ties" — the crossing guard, the neighbor — become something more. When we share our work before it's finished and let community find us. And when we do the brave thing not despite everything going on in our lives, but because of it. 💛 Support the documentary: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-I-... 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/theupli... 📬 Join the Uplifters on Substack: https://theuplifterspodcast.com 💰 SPONSOR: Check out Join the Tryb and use code UPLIFTER20 for 20% off your first order at jointhetryb.com — curated products from emerging founders with inspiring stories, including surprise boxes that make perfect gifts!
