On 26 November 2025, DARE-RC — Pakistan’s first-of-its-kind education research initiative, hosted Webinar 4: Strengthening Disability-Inclusive Data Systems in Pakistan’s Education Sector, bringing together leading voices from Sightsavers and DARE-RC to unpack new evidence and practical pathways toward inclusive education. This session presented insights from the DARE-RC Study on Disability-Inclusive Data and Systems in Pakistan, focusing on how stronger measurement, integrated tools, and improved system design can ensure every child is counted and supported. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Sahar Shah, Senior Research Manager at DARE-RC, Oxford Policy Management, and featured thought-provoking contributions from: Dr. Julia de Kadt, Head of Portfolio, Health & Disability Research, Sightsavers Mr. Itfaq Khaliq Khan, Global Technical Lead, Inclusive Education, Sightsavers Key themes explored in the webinar included: • Integrating the Washington Group Short Set (WG-SS) into Pakistan’s Annual School Census for the first time • Implications for planning, budgeting, and inclusive policy implementation • Persistent system-level gaps such as data quality, teacher capability, and policy uptake • Practical steps to strengthen disability identification, classroom support, and evidence use Attended by policymakers, education planners, researchers, donors, and practitioners, the session offered clear, actionable insights for advancing disability-inclusive education in Pakistan.
