TRIO Marathon - Run For Equality.

Marathon Run for Equality : Our first edition, a CAS initiative, kicked off very well bringing the whole community together to make a difference in someone's life today. The non-competitive run was organised by students of Grade 11 and 12 to raise funds for a cause through TRIO’s NGO partners to support children undergoing cancer treatment by providing medical equipment and tools to support their needs. Our chief guest for the event was Mr. Coach Kay, who has been an ultra-marathon trainer for more than 30 years as well as being a TWA parent. We thank him for his continuing support. The students used the run to also connect to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal No 3: Good Health and Well-Being and Goal No 5: Gender Equality. The walk/run/jog was conducted to inspire everyone to take care of their own health and uphold gender equality, while also highlighting that there should be no discrimination based on gender when it comes to health. There were 3 Open Categories: 4.5km, 2km and 500m. Students, teachers and more than 100 parents participated in this whole school community event. The premium sponsor for the event was News One. Other sponsors were Shiridi Sai Global Trust, Stocks India Wealth Management Consultants, Bosch and Raksul. Parents, teachers, and the student body also contributed towards the cause. We thank all the sponsors and all the parents for supporting this initiative. All participants registered were given a T-shirt and a Finishers Medal. This medal signifies “You made a difference”.
