Once a bustling town with the economic help of 5 local mills supplying the community with jobs, the town was first established in the 1830s. The jobs in the region were based around the United States need at the time for natural resources to build the then young nation. Lumber, steel, iron, and other natural minerals were some of the local exports of the county. Richwoods, given its name, the dense untouched forests were one of the reasons people settled here in the early 19th century. I found this location when traveling the backroads of old America, and when passing this town, I saw how many old buildings remained from its past, leaving me curious for its history. With further research, I found absolutely no history, not even a single image of the town in the past, leaving me with a whole town that needs to be documented, that has NEVER seen the honor of before. While traveling America the last 10 years, I've seen many places get demolished with no documentation whatsoever, so I felt the need to walk around and share the beauty this small towns still has. while doing so I speak with multiple locals who are keeping the spirit of this old town alive. if you guys enjoy the video, please leave a thumbs up, and let me know what you think in the comments! and if you want to see more exploration of historical America, subscribe to the channel and put notifications on :) thanks for watching and have a good day !
