Beauport Shipwreck and Salvage Guernsey 1930's to the current day.

Guernsey has always had an exciting and varied maritime history from Roman shipwrecks right through to modern day recreational crafts and everything in between. Guernseys on island industries relied on arrival and departing of materials or people such as the stone trade or even the tourist industry. The need for energy on island also required the importation of fuels such as coal and oil. The coal industry had many different clients such as the agricultural, domestics, Gas lighting company to name but a few. The delivery of coal to the island has been going on for hundreds of years but with the higher demands every year it created work for hundreds of people, which included shipping companies. This shipwreck the Beauport was one of these ships which supplied coal to Guernsey from the UK. Unfortunately her luck ran out and she was driven onto a hidden reef.
