Land Rover Series 3 Restoration - Part 1 of 'Project Pickle' the 1976 88”.

Hi and welcome back to the channel. In this episode we are featuring a new addition to the family, a 1976 Series 3 Land Rover affectionately named Pickle, well isn’t it obvious :):) My wife saw this advertised via one of her school friends who had shared the advert, it was his friends car and had owned it for the best part of 10 years and one of his jobs was to maintain some woodland in Kent, Pickle spent a lot of that ownership in the woodland but sadly fell victim to the excessive corrosion that had long set in to both front chassis legs thus causing the chassis to drop rendering her fairly immobile. It was limped to some shelter where it sat for a few weeks prior to our viewing and a scissor jack was needed to lift the chassis up just enough to get it out of the woods and into the trailer where my wife’s trusty 110 waited for its adopted sibling to arrive. This will be completely restored largely to OE specification so it will look pretty much a completely standard 88” just really basic and will be repainted in a different colour too so the light green will be changed to Limestone with a Sand canvas top and in truth will only be a summer car to take the paddle boards down to the beach in or the mountain bikes out etc. I do hope you enjoy the video and I will post as regularly as I can time permitting, this is an out of hours project so evenings and weekends mostly with the odd day here and there spent on it as and when the workflow allows. .
