Nyonya Laksa originates from Peranakan cuisine and has spread across Malaysia—including Sarawak in East Malaysia—becoming a beloved classic across all ethnic groups. Every culture gives it a unique twist, but the heart of laksa lies in the harmony of fragrant spices, creamy coconut milk, and a dash of calamansi for that perfect blend of salty, sweet, sour, and spicy. Besides the traditional meat-based laksa, vegetarian versions are getting more popular in Malaysia.
