Let’s spend some cosy time in my Christmas cottage in the English countryside, putting together a Victorian-style paper theatre and having lots of fun making it and bringing the characters to life. This type of activity was very popular in Victorian times, it is a hobby that was a very popular Victorian toy and part of authentic Victorian home decor. The details say that ‘around the beginning of Queen Victoria’s reign, the cardboard theatre was perhaps the most played with toy in Britain’. They were also known as Juvenile Drama. I think it looks really nice as part of my English cottage Christmas decor. An ornate paper theatre would look amazing amongst other Victorian Christmas decorations.
