The Purpose of al-Jihād | Al 'Allāmah Sāliḥ al-Fawzān

Al 'Allāmah Sāliḥ al-Fawzān: "The aim of Jihād is for the benefit of mankind and to remove the people from darkness (and enter them) into light, and to remove them from the hellfire (so that they may enter) paradise. So the benefit of Jihād against the disbelievers returns to the disbelievers themselves, out of mercy for them so that they are removed from disbelief (and entered) into Islam, which is the religion of Allāh; from disbelief which is the religion of Shaytān to Islam which is the religion of Allāh (The Mighty and Majestic). The religion of Shaytān leads to the hellfire and the religion of Islām leads to paradise. What is the difference between them? Thus, Jihād in Islām, its purpose is not a desire for the wealth of the people or killing the people. Its only purpose is to remove the people from darkness (and enter them into) the light, as (Allāh) - The Exalted said: "(This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you (O Muhammad) in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness (of disbelief and polytheism) into light (of belief in the Oneness of Allāh and Islāmic Monotheism) by their Lord's Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise." (Surah Ibrahim 14:1) This is the aim." May Allāh reward Abu Mu'āwiyyah Abdullāh for the corrections made.
