Sometimes, the best meals come from reinventing the recipes you already know and love. Last year, I put an out-of-this-world spicy, sticky, orange barbecuey marinade on chicken. Today, I'm using the same sauce on a super-tender, slow-cooking pork shoulder. And, while I don't like to play favorites, this reimagined version is even better than the original! Sarah's Tip of the Day: To make this recipe, you'll begin by cooking your pork with onions and water for two hours at 350 degrees. While that's cooking, simmer orange juice concentrate, ketchup, light brown sugar, white-wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt in a saucepan. When the time is up, coat your meat in the orange juice glaze and return to the oven for another two hours. The result is the sweetest, most tender meat you've ever tasted -- and definitely worth the wait! Season pork with salt and pepper. Add to a large, straight-sided skillet along with onion and 1 1/2 cups water. Cover with parchment-lined foil and transfer to oven. Cook 2 hours. Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, combine 1 teaspoon salt, juice concentrate, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook until mixture has thickened, 18 to 20 minutes. Reserve 1 3/4 cup sauce. Remove skillet from oven and coat pork with sauce. Return to oven and cook, uncovered, until tender, about 2 hours, basting pork with sauce every 15 minutes. Skim fat, and shred pork and toss with reserved sauce to serve. --------------------------------------------------------------- Get the Full Recipe: http://full.sc/163GG6F Nutritional Info: per serv (makes 6): 490 cal; 19 g fat; 46 g protein; 33 g carb; 1 g fiber More Pork Recipes: http://full.sc/P0zG6t --------------------------------------------------------------- Want more?
