Route: https://explore.osmaps.com/route/2887... Description: Starting off in the free siding with parking for 10 cars we are quickly into the nearby wood. We work our way along the treelined run and reach the farm. Then we travel through the pasture land until we turn to take the bridge for a short road section. Turning onto another tree lined path we begin our ascent. As we travel up the views of the surrounding fells begins to grow and we join the old coach road. Following this around we begin our main ascent of the day up Clough Head. Once submitted the run along the tops becomes much easier with great views over the whole Lake District to our right and the Yorkshire Dales to the left. We continue on to our first and largest of these Dodds: Great Dodd. From here, it is a short walk over to Watson’s Dodd and another short walk to Stybarrow Dodd. Having completed our 4 Wainwrights for the day we head back down into the valley with the waterfalls on our right. This is a great walk with commanding views all the way around. This is the ultimate Dodd walk on a fantastic ridge great for dog walkers. It is a truly spectacular mountain chain in this hidden part of the Lake District national park.
