Use your skills for good | Holly Lewis, Molly Zimmermann & Elisabeth Ince | TEDxSnoIsleLibraries

Learn how a small group of people working together are changing their community in lasting ways, and see how a wide range of small steps can add up to something bigger. Bringing everyday skills together with a wide range of skills they've learned with their robotics team, these students have grown a habit of service that is contagious, easy for anyone to begin, and which comes along with rewards for all who engage. Oak Harbor High School student graduate Holly Lewis joins fellow high school students, Elisabeth Ince and Molly Zimmerman, to launch the first virtual TEDxSnoIsleLibraries 2020 speaker event with their talk, “Embrace the Chance to Solve Problems in Your Community.” Lewis, Zimmermann and Ince connected through the Whidbey Island Wildcats, a local robotics team. Lewis had been on the team for two years when Ince and Zimmermann joined it two years ago. The three have worked on projects to help the homeless, people in underprivileged countries, and Whidbey Island children. Lewis will attend the University of Washington in the fall to pursue a degree in electrical engineering. Molly Zimmermann is a member of the Whidbey Island Wildcats, a robotics team based at Oak Harbor High School, Oak Harbor, Wash. Besides building technical skills, the team focuses on the betterment of the community and the world. The teammates have worked on projects to help the homeless, people in underprivileged countries, and the young children of the Whidbey Island community. Molly is aiming for a university degree in architectural engineering or interior design and joins fellow roboticists and classmates, Elisabeth Ince and Holly Lewis in a talk on working together to solve community problems. Elisabeth Ince is a member of the Whidbey Island Wildcats, a robotics team based at Oak Harbor High School, Oak Harbor, Wash. Elisabeth has her sights set on a Bachelor's degree in sociocultural anthropology after graduating from high school.
