After scouting deep into the remote wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, we stumbled upon a massive, well-established beaver pond that showed all the signs of heavy activity. With fresh feed beds, defined runs, and a solid lodge, we knew this spot had serious potential. In this video, we break down our beaver trapping setup, using 330 Conibear traps on H-Stands placed on four key runs near the lodge. Every set was made with purpose, focusing on natural movement and high-percentage locations. On this check, I was joined by a special young lady eager to learn the ins and outs of beaver trapping, making the day even more memorable. Watching someone experience successful trapping for the first time is always rewarding, and this check did not disappoint. We went three for four, connecting on one beaver and two muskrat, making for an exciting and productive day on the trapline. From scouting and set placement to the check itself, this video is packed with learning moments, success, and time spent in the wild places that make trapping so special.
