Today marks my fifth and final day in the beautiful coastal city of Qingdao, but the weather is giving me a frozen farewell. After last night's heavy snowfall, the temperature has plummeted to a bone-chilling -17°C. Our journey to Jinan begins now. We hopped into a taxi, navigating through the icy streets to reach the Qingdao Train Station. After a quick 30-minute ride and the usual security checks, we found ourselves with a two-hour layover. I spent the time exploring the local station market and managed to find a free charging station to juice up my phone for the journey ahead. For a quick meal, I grabbed some vegetable Maggi—there’s nothing like hot noodles in this freezing weather! Soon, it was time to board. We verified our passports and headed to Carriage No. 13. I tried to catch some sleep, but a fellow passenger’s strong scent made it impossible to stay asleep! We pulled into Jinan Station exactly at 10 PM. If I thought Qingdao was cold, Jinan is on another level at -21°C. The roads were completely buried under a thick blanket of snow, making it impossible for our taxi to reach the doorstep. We had to hike the final stretch to our university hostel on foot. It was a freezing, exhausting, but memorable end to this trip. See you in the next one!.
