Police in flak jackets sealed off the top London clinic, while just yards away from them the protesters held lit candles above photographs of Chile's "disappeared". Acting on a Spanish warrant, British police took General Augusto Pinochet into custody on Friday. The 82-year-old was in London for back surgery.
