The sights and sounds of the Great American Horse Drive 2018

The first week in May Sombrero hosts a roundup of their domestic horses off of their winter pasture. It is attended by all walks of life. It culminates with the drive, (this year there were approx. 460 horses,) running through the tiny town of Maybell, Colorado. This video captures the excitement starting on Saturday when they run the horses to Boston Flats where they rest up for the night for the fun in Maybell on Sunday and the final drive to Sombrero Ranch. These are all domestic horse who will spend the summer making tourists smile at various dude ranches, and carry hunters into the mountains in the fall of the year.
