Sick of using a cardboard salt shaker and plastic pepper pot, I finally decided to put a couple of off-cuts of sapele to good use. It's a great project for a new turner like me. I kept the shape uncomplicated and the design simple. As we tend to use more salt than pepper, I opted to make the salt shaker taller to accommodate a little more meaning less 'top ups'. #makersgonnamake #swytm #woodturning #saltshaker Finished with Hampshire sheen Electric Blue followed by Hampshire sheen high gloss wax. I do rate this unit, especially for someone in my position, starting out in wood turning and not sure how far they will be going down the road!!
