Date filmed: 23/11/2022 Videos filmed at: 14:37 | 14:41 | 14:45 Route: The Selby Line Brough Station Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barriers crossing with Obstacle Detection (MCB-OD) Location: Skillings Lane, Brough Trains featured: Lowering 1 (0:00): Class 170 (Northern) - 1:26 Scarborough ➡ Sheffield - Lowering 2 (2:03): Class 155 (Northern) - 3:25 York ➡ Bridlington - Class 37s Railhead Treatment Train (Direct Rail Services) - 4:05 York Thrall Europa ➡ York Thrall Europa A level crossing with an obstacle detection system and a Bombardier EBI Gate 2000 set-up found within the village of Brough located a few miles west of Hull. The signal box here still stands, but has been out of use since 2018 when the line was re-signalled with control moving to York Regional Operations Centre. The renewal here hasn't been as complete as it has been at other level crossings in the area, as the wigwags / road traffic lights from the previous installation have been kept. In this video, two full lowerings are featured. The third clip in this video is a bonus clip where a pair of Class 37 diesel locomotives are seen and heard powering through the village on a Rail Head Treatment Train, with quite a bit of thrashing, and a very tasteful headboard included! Thanks for watching!
