Better late than never. Here's my 10 Ecommerce Predictions for 2026: 1) Social Commerce Keeps Exploding TikTok Shop has mastered this. It is an awesome buying experience and the incentives are fully aligned between brand and creator. More platforms will copy it. 2) Meta Copies TikTok Shop’s Creator-Commission Model Meta already has partnerships and product tagging options, but it is missing the creator commission integration. Once incentives are fully aligned and integrations are made seamless, the floodgates open. That turns Instagram into a massive performance-commerce marketplace. 3) Amazon Takes Even More Market Share In 2025, Amazon took up about 40% of ecommerce and I expect that growth to continue. Fast, cheap, reliable fulfilment will only accelerate with AI and automation. Amazon becomes even harder to compete with. 4) Meta Ray-Ban Content Takes Over Instagram Meta has the distribution channel (Instagram) to make this product cool. The unique first-person content will get priority in the feed because it creates more authentic, immersive feeds that can't be replicated with AI. Creators that master this format will get organic reach that feels like early Reels. 5) Lower Oil Prices Fuel an Ecommerce Boom As energy and shipping costs come down, pressure comes off the entire supply chain. That creates more margin room for brands and more disposable income for consumers. Tailwinds on both sides is a perfect setup for contribution margin expansion. 6: AI Content Gets Deprioritized AI content will be everywhere, and people will get sick of it. Platforms will reward human signal like real faces, real environments, real reactions, that can't be replicated with AI. Hence, my Meta Ray-Ban content prediction. 7: Interest Rates Fall and Cash Floods the Market High rates have parked cash on the sidelines in money markets and treasuries. It is no secret that Trump wants to lower interest rates and has been pushing to remove Jerome Powell as Fed chair. As rates continue to fall, that capital will flood into the market. This will provide a spark for ecommerce. 8: Domestic Supply Chains Become a Competitive Advantage Geopolitical uncertainty, tariffs, and shipping instability make overseas sourcing risky. Brands that can produce or assemble domestically get inventory faster, have more predictable costs, and can form leverage "Made in USA" messaging in their marketing. 9: Return to Real-World Experiences As digital gets more saturated, people crave real moments, events, and physical connection. The brands that win will use pop-ups, community events, and in-person experiences to stand out and build loyalty. Offline becomes a content engine for online growth. 10) Meta Ads Stay King, But Brands Diversify Meta will still be the primary revenue driver for most brands. But budgets will increasingly flow to channels to test incrementality. TikTok, Snap, Pinterest, AppLovin, and X will all get tested in 2026. 📊 Need help auditing your Meta Ads account or building a growth strategy? Reach out to me on social media.
